Wildflower City Native Plant Sale

Join us for a special Fall Native Plant Sale on Monday, September 14, from 5:00-7:30 PM at the Peace Care Healing Garden at the corner of Magnolia and Baldwin Avenues in Jersey City.

Fall is one of the best times of year to plant natives. Cooler temperatures put less stress on new plants, while the soil is still warm enough for roots to establish before winter. Plant now and your garden will have a head start when spring arrives.

We’ll have a beautiful selection of New Jersey native plants for sun, shade, pollinators, birds, fall color, and tough urban gardens, including: Aromatic Aster • New England Aster • Blue-Stemmed Goldenrod • Showy Goldenrod • Little Bluestem • Prairie Dropseed • Mountain Mint • Butterfly Weed • Wild Columbine • Golden Ragwort • American Alumroot • a selection of sedges and more.

We’ll also have a few native shrubs, including Virginia Sweetspire, Black Chokeberry, Smooth hydrangea, and Shrubby St. John’s Wort, all wonderful choices for adding structure, seasonal interest, and wildlife value to the garden.

Not sure what to plant? Come talk plants with us. Tell us about your sunny spot, shady corner, wet area, dry slope, patio container, or small city garden, and we’ll help you find native plants suited to your space.
